Collaborations

CCCU Collaboration

St John’s is proud to have a strong and rich partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University. This partnership allows us to enhance the learning experiences for our children, as well as support future teachers whilst training.

As a school we are committed to training the next generation of outstanding teachers and strive to ensure the provision we provide is always of the highest possible quality. Over the past two years, we have welcomed over 30 student teachers into our school, and they have become valued members of our school community. Our partnership also encourages us to reflect on our school and continue to develop, explore and improve our own practice. As a school we are committed to constant improvement and growth. We see this whole setting approach to promote engagement with Initial Teacher Education (ITE) as an opportunity for CPD and a direct factor in school improvement.

We have many staff members who are trained mentors and all are passionate about supporting students within the school. We have two lead mentors who provide opportunities for professional development sessions throughout the placement. This includes meetings with the leadership team, subject leaders and governors.

EduCant Collaboration

St John's Church of England Primary School belongs to the Canterbury EduCant Collaboration of schools that work in partnership to promote many collaborative learning opportunities for children and staff. We work to an agreed action plan and all schools are committed to strengthening our collaboration through a range of school improvement activities. Subject leaders across all the schools share best practice and undertake joint moderation activities.
