Hello, I'm Mr Graham. I am the teacher for Raven class this year. I am also in charge of P.E for the school making sure we get a range of sports for everyone. My favourite subjects are Maths, P.E, computing and History. When I'm not teaching I am either watching football, reading or getting out and about travelling as much as I can. I pride myself on being very approachable so if there is any issues or questions, please let me know.

Important dates

Our learning this term:

English: We are reading There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom, a story about friendship, self awareness and school.

Maths

In Maths, we are learning about place value, developing our understanding of the value of each digit in a number. We will also be using this knowledge to develop our skills in addition and subtraction, including choosing efficient methods to solve problems and explaining our reasoning.

Science

In Science, we are beginning our exciting learning about Space. We will explore our Solar System, learn about the planets and other objects in space, and develop our understanding of how the Earth, Moon and Sun are connected.

Topic

We are starting a two-term History topic called “Stone Age to Iron Age.” We will travel back in time to discover how people lived during this fascinating period, exploring homes, food, tools, beliefs and daily life. We will also investigate how Britain changed over time and the impact of new inventions and technologies.

RE

In RE, we are studying Christianity and exploring the big question: “What does it mean if God is loving and holy?” We will consider what Christians believe about God and explore how these beliefs influence the way Christians live and treat others.

German

In German, we are learning how to talk and write about our hobbies. We will build our vocabulary and practise using sentences to say what we enjoy doing, as well as asking and answering questions about hobbies.

Be ready for learning! In Raven class your child will need to have these items in school: 

• water bottle (no squash or juice) 
• small rucksack (big enough to hold lunch box and reading books) 
• wellington boots (to leave in school) 
• coat (weather appropriate) 

Please don’t bring other items to school, as we do not have space to store them, and it can cause upset if things are lost or damaged.
