St John’s entered their first competitive event this year when a team of year 3 and 4 students took part in the Sportshall Athletics on Friday 10th March.
The day was made up of various relay races, jumping and throwing events. There were seven other schools participating, so the competition was fierce!
The day started with an obstacle race, which involved running over hurdles and speed stepping around barriers. The teams then went into a series of rotations, with each child getting the opportunity to attempt the throwing and jumping events. The boys did particularly well in the javelin, while the girls finished first overall in the relay. The whole team should feel proud of how they performed.
We are all looking forward to competing again soon!
