A group of six children from year 3 and year 4 went climbing this week, when they took part in a climbing event, competing against other schools in the area.
They had a wet and windy walk to the Chimera climbing centre and everyone thought it was very funny when Miss Baker stepped in a big puddle!
Once they got there they were split into groups and began doing some warm ups and playing games. They were then able to tackle some of the easier climbing walls before taking on the more difficult challenges.
The teams won points for each wall that they successfully completed, with the hardest wall being the purple one.
The children all really enjoyed themselves and challenging themselves to achieve, with Teddie reporting that although he was a bit nervous to start with, he was really excited when he made it to the top, and Phidya saying that she loved the challenge of getting to the top of the wall although she didn’t enjoy the walk in the rain!
Willow said that she had particularly enjoyed completing the tricky walls and Alice said that she had enjoyed the whole event!
Well done to all of them. We look forward to year 5 and 6 taking part in the next climbing event on Tuesday, next week!
