Children from year 6 enjoyed a day at Bewl Water on Wednesday (25th May) this week. This was a special trip to mark the end of primary school and their time at St John’s.
They set off early from school to make the journey and sang most of the way there! There was a lot of excitement on the coach!
The children participated in three events; canoeing, orienteering and challenge.
The canoeing was fantastic with many children diving into the water despite the cold. They practised rowing and played games inside the canoes where they had to jump, turn, reach into the water or move to another canoe without falling in. The orienteering was great fun as the children navigated their way around the large site using just a map and common sense for directions!
They also took part in low rope activities; making bridges and swings in the woods and completing a mini assault course.
It was a great day out and the children all really enjoyed themselves. Natasha from Zebra Class reported that it had been a fun day, full of activities, Mason said that it had been very exciting and Alyosha reported that everyone had demonstrated good team work skills during the day.
Definitely a day to remember!
