Children from year 5, year 6 and Safari Class have all enjoyed a trip to Canterbury Mosque at the University of Kent over the last two Fridays.
They went on the trip to support their learning about Islam next term and spent a very enjoyable morning finding out about the mosque and the religion.
The children heard the call to prayer, had lessons on writing in Arabic and tasted foods that are traditionally eaten once the fasting for Ramadan has finished.
They also found out more about mosques and the Pillars of Islam as well as learning about the customs and beliefs that are important to the religion.
We would like to thank everyone at Canterbury Mosque for making St John’s so welcome.
