We have reached the end of what has been a very challenging school year for all of us. We are all aware of the restrictions that have been put in place both at school and in our home lives and have made changes to cope with these.
The children have been amazing throughout this time and we have all pulled together as a community. This has been shown in the celebrations and achievements that we have highlighted in these school newsletters.
As we get to the end of this academic year we are all looking forward. The changes to restrictions hopefully mean that we can all enjoy a freer, more ‘normal’ summer break and the children can enjoy their summer holiday, ready to come back to start the new year in September.
As most of you know I will not be here in September as I will be beginning a new chapter in my own life, as I prepare for the arrival of my baby.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents for all the kind words, gifts and support that I have been given as I get ready to go on maternity leave.
I will still be visiting the school and I look forward to seeing St John’s in action next year, under the leadership of Ms Ogle and the team.
I look forward to returning in 2022 and seeing how all the children have progressed. As always the end of the school year is tinged with sadness as we have to say goodbye to several members of staff; some of whom have been at St John’s for many years.
We also have to say farewell to our year 6 pupils. We wish them all well as they move on to secondary school and continue their academic journey. We wish them every success.
All that remains for me to do is to wish you all a great summer and to send my best wishes to every member of the St John’s community.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
