    This week has been Science Week at St John’s.

    The week started with a virtual workshop called Planet-tastic Plastics. The children really enjoyed it ; particularly joining in with the experiments.   2. Class Photos

    Friday 18 June

    We welcomed the school photographer to St John’s yesterday to take photos of children in their class groups.

    All children were given a letter to bring home with a QR code on it. You will need to use this to be able to order your child’s class photo.

  3. Sports Week

    Friday 18 June

    Next week at St John’s will be Sports Week. The whole week will be a celebration of sport and sportspeople who inspire us. The children will be taking part in activities and challenges throughout the week, so please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day. There will be throwing and jumping events at the start of the week, then races on Thursday and Friday.

  4. Fundraising Event

    Friday 18 June

    Many parents will be aware of the house explosion that occurred in Ashford last month. Members of the family that were critically injured in this explosion attend St John’s.

    We have been made aware by this family of a fund raising event to help all of those people affected by the explosion.

  5. Buster's Big Bash

    Friday 18 June

    We have been informed that the free mini festival, Buster’s Big Bash, due to take place in the Dane John on Saturday 17th July has been postponed.

  6. Nursery Experiments

    Friday 18 June

    Our Nursery children have also been taking part in Science Week.

    They spent time learning about spiders and their webs. The children discovered that spiders have a special oil on them to stop themselves from sticking to their own webs.

    They put oil on their fingers and discovered that this allowed them to move along a sticky surface without actually sticking to it!
