We welcomed Firefighter Kim from Kent Fire Service into school last week (Thursday 27th February). She talked to the children about the importance of having a smoke alarm at home and what they do. She also taught them how to ‘stop, drop and roll’ in the event of a fire.
The children then watched Francis the Firefly and discovered why they should never play with matches or lighters and should always tell a grown up (and remind them to put them away) if they see matches left out.
Some children then tried on items of special firefighter clothing and Kim went through each item, telling the children how it protected her.
The children all had a lovely time and enjoyed the worksheets that Firefighter Kim left for everyone!
Thank you to Kent Fire Service.
