Today has been National Science Day and we began the day with a bang! Well, more than one bang actually as our morning assembly was led by Empiribox and included some amazing (and very loud) experiments!
The children then continued the day by doing scientific experiments in their classrooms. Reception, year 1 and year 2 did a fizzy emulsion investigation and a balloon rocket challenge, year 3 and 4 made vinegar powered rockets and designed and built their own hovercrafts, whilst year 5 and 6 children investigated fireworks and made a hand held rocket launcher each! It has been a really exciting day and children have had the opportunity to earn certificates and prizes along the way. The winners of these were announced in our special assembly this afternoon.
We hope to bring you some photos of these activities on next week’s newsletter along with names of our prize winners.
