Last week (24th—28th September) was our year 6 activity week. Many of the children went on the residential trip to Swattenden whilst the others remained at school and worked on some exciting activities with Mrs Wallace and the Bootcamp Group.
The children who went to Swattenden had an amazing time; enjoying good weather and good food as well as partaking in some enjoyable team building activities.
They went rock climbing, did some archery, went on an obstacle course, fell in the pond, had a go at crate stacking, went on a scary but enjoyable night time nature walk and even fell asleep listening to Mr Gold reading them a bedtime story!
The children all had a really great time and the teachers reported how well behaved they had been.
It was an all round great experience for everyone involved (including staff)! Cara from Zebra Class reported that it was the most extraordinary week of her life. She said, “My favourite part was when we had to climb on to a high board, hold each other’s wrists and fall backwards (we had harnesses on)!
We hope to be able to offer the Swattenden experience again next year!
The children who remained at school also had a fun week working with Mrs Wallace and the Bootcamp Group.
They spent the week trying to solve the mystery of who had vandalised our new play area, (we discovered it covered in toilet paper and looking very messy on Monday morning)! The children took fingerprints from the play area and looked for clues around the school. They searched through classroom bins and checked the fingerprints against staff members. They also found and defused a bomb under one of the tables!
The shock discovery of the week , after collecting all the clues and piecing together the evidence was that our year 4 teacher, Mr Parkin, was responsible for the mess!
It was a great week of team building for all members of year 6!
