We are very excited to be welcoming top athlete Darran Challis to St John’s on 5th November to kick off our Sports Enrichment Day.
Darran is a former army officer who has suffered multiple injuries to his neck, collar bone, spine, pelvis and both legs. However, this has not stopped him from taking part in sports and he has a passion for the triathlon events of swimming, cycling and running. He will be talking to the children and leading a sponsored fitness circuit with all of the pupils, showing them that injury does not stop you from taking part in sport.
The children are all bringing home a sponsorship form today and we would like them to collect some sponsors from friends and family over the half term week. All money raised will be used to buy sports equipment for the school as well as supporting British athletes.
We look forward to an exciting and inspiring day.
